Wednesday morning, I wake up around 6:30am, look out the hotel's window down
at the bikes.
All locked up, sitting right next to the trailer and
truck. Everyone else is asleep and it's way too early to be up during
vacation so I go back to bed... however the skies are clear so it promises to be
a good day.
I get up around 10am... look out again... I look at my still sleeping roommates, look at the keys to the locks... and sleepily wonder how Dom moved his bike when I've got the key to my lock on his bike... two bikes instead of three...
So, after about 30 minutes of convincing and coaxing, I finally get the guys to realize I'm not kidding around... they finally look out the window and realize we got a stolen bike.
After talking to a few people, it turns out that the bike must have been stolen somewhere between 8am and 10am. Talk about balls. The Kryptonite disc lock doesn't do a whole lot of good when the bike weighs less than 400 lbs. All it did was crack the carbon fiber fender when they tried to roll it away.
Kind of embarrassing that they took the Suzuki and left two perfectly good Yamahas right there. So if ya see a 2001 Suzuki GSXR-750 Red/Silver with Super Sweet on the wind screen...
Anyway -- that kinda put a damper on things for the rest of the week. 3 riders and 2 bikes - not a good combo... although I offered to let Dom ride bitch on the back of my bike, he was having none of that.
