Get well wishes to Steve.  Heal up soon.  Thanks goes out to the good Samaritans who were kind enough to drop him at the hospital.

As the day turned to evening and the evening turned to night – I rode with my favorite boyz through the hills and dells of Brooklyn thoroughly having a good time.

The day started with Vicky taking me to out to watch the quads – good to have more girls on the road.  Anyway, we get to the quadfest and meet up with Lora on her Barbie bike.  It was good weather, more bikes than cops and a few thrills.  All the boys showed up and it was time to play.  Of course, wherever there’s fun there’s an onion to spoil it – so we had to go.  Word was the 5-0 were on their way – so we all left for other destinations.  As we fled I grinned thinking this had the makings of a very good day.

So we ran around from place to place doing things until the police show up.  I truly enjoy riding with Lil Anthony since stoplights become completely optional if he’s in the lead.  This is an aspect of motorcycles I truly enjoy – vehicular laws are completely optional.

Anyway – once we stopped fleeing and got where we could just play – the boys were in full effect.  Joe, JonJon, Paulie, Eric, JohnV, Kurt, Jeff, Lil Anthony, Mario – it was all good.

Jon“Here-Hold-This”Jon was completely off da hook.  The boy is mint.   I don’t know how he got so good so fast but JonJon certainly had his swerve on.  He was the big dawg of da WB on Sunday  – hella cool skills and I got the footage to prove it.  What happened, Mario?

Little Anthony was blazing on the 929 rocket of his -- maybe a few other people need angels on their shoulders.  Paulie Showboat was as crazy as ever.  He was slammin’  Him and JonJon are quite a pair – I’m not sure who is crazier.  Joe was there which is always a good thing since he’s fast and safe – I like following him.

The highlight of the day was watching JohnV’s helmet bouncing down the highway – I kept waitin for some car to come along and get whacked but the road was clear and the helmet was retrieved.  John – try www.helmetshop.com unless you wanna start pulling a JonJon “here hold this” to every passing female which is probably not the best way to pick up girls – not that you need any help.   J

Cute Nick on the R6 was looking good as always – the wheelies are coming along quite nicely.  Happy Birthday.

Jazzy Jeff continues to wail on his green machine.  I didn’t see any of the other boys playing so sorry for no commentary.

The Staten Island boys left early on – missing the chaos the night brings.  We fooled around for a while and finally went for some pizza and ended up running into Lora and Vicky again.  Lora had lost two wheels and was back on the 1100 so we decided to ride a little more.  We picked up Big Steve as well.  Being that I was still dressed for a hot summer day I was quite envious of his sweatshirt – but turns out it sure is a good thing he was wearing it.  Road rash is certainly a convincing argument for being covered while riding.

So Joe, JonJon, Paulie, Lora, Vicky, Steve, Mario and I went running around in the summer night – glad to have another nice night to play.  As the night was finally coming to an end, we all headed home.  Unfortunately on our way, Big Steve biffed.  Luckily Joe made sure cars didn’t run over him as he was tumbling down the road – we all helped Steve, moved the thing formerly known as a motorcycle out of the road and directed traffic.  A good Samaritan stopped and loaded him into the car and took him to the hospital.  Us girls followed the car, the boys stayed with the bike and we all worried about Steve.

All things considered, he must have had an angel on his shoulder because he faired pretty well.  Joe showed up at the hospital just as Paulie was driving up in his car after getting a phone call.  JonJon and Mario came by shortly to find out his condition.  Mario had to go but JonJon stayed.  Kurtie Kurt and Nick got there as soon as they could and Phil came out right away to drive Steve home when he was released.

We all sat around for hours discussing the night, how lucky Steve was and waiting to hear his status.  As the hours passed, it was fun listening to past war stories, the discussion of dropping the kids off at the pool, watching the shenanigans and just hanging out.  I dearly love listening to guys retell stories that include machinery because they always do it with sound effects.  As I sat there trying to get a little nap, I thought about how nice it was to ride with a crew that would wait in an ER parking lot til 3 in the morning just to make sure you’re ok.

Hope ya heal up nice, Steve.
